Operations Lead
Run the day-to-day of the transaction and merchant support function.
Who are we?
UniqPay is building the orchestration layer for cross border payments. Acquiring, payouts, currency conversion, and risk, unified across markets and currencies so businesses can move money without rebuilding their stack for every corridor. We are headquartered in Dubai, with a team distributed across UAE, India, Norway and Philippines.
At UniqPay, the operations and customer service function is still being built, and the people joining now are the ones building it. The standard operating procedures, the playbooks, the benchmarks: most of it does not exist yet. If you want to maintain a system someone else designed, this is not the place. If you want to leave a mark on one, keep reading.
About the role:
We are looking for an Operations Lead to run the day to day of the transaction and merchant support function. You directly supervise the Operation Support staff and you are the first point of escalation for transaction anomalies, merchant integration issues, and reconciliation discrepancies. You are the bridge between execution and management.
As our Operations Lead, you command the floor. You watch every pay-in and pay-out move in real time, catch the anomalies before they become incidents, and carry ground truth back up to the Operations Manager. At a pre launch company you are not slotting into a defined role. You are writing the playbook for how this team detects, triages, and fixes things.
What you will do:
• Watch the flows live: Monitor all payin and payout transactions in real time, and detect and triage anomalies, failures, and delays.
• Lead the crew: Supervise and guide the Operation Support staff through daily tasks and escalations.
• Get merchants live: Coordinate integration support: onboarding, identity verification, application programming interface troubleshooting, and testing.
• Own reconciliation: Run the settlement and reconciliation workflow, and verify the accuracy of every daily and periodic report.
• Chase discrepancies: Investigate transaction mismatches and drive resolution with Technology and Finance.
• Keep procedures honest: Maintain and update the standard operating procedures for monitoring, integration support, and reconciliation.
• Escalate with context: Hand high impact issues to the Operations Manager with full detail and a recommended action, never just a problem.
• Report the state of play: Produce daily and weekly status reports, and make sure 100 percent of issues are logged and categorised.
Who you are:
• Experience: 3 to 5 years in payment operations, including at least 1 year in a senior or lead role.
• Domain knowledge: Solid grasp of payin and payout flows, merchant integration, and settlement and reconciliation.
• Technical skills: Able to read application programming interface logs, work with transaction databases, and live comfortably in spreadsheets and monitoring tools.
• Tools: Familiar with ticketing systems, reconciliation tools, and business intelligence dashboards.
• Attention to detail: You spot the discrepancy that others scroll straight past.
• Communication: Clear reporting to management, and the knack for explaining technical issues to non technical people.
• Education: A bachelor degree in Finance, Information Technology, Business, or a related field preferred.
Bonus points if:
• You have led a shift or a small operations team before, not only worked within one.
• You have built or rewritten a standard operating procedure that the rest of the team adopted.
• You have worked in a high growth or early stage environment where the process did not exist yet.
Where this role goes:
The Operations Lead seat is the proving ground for the Operations Manager role. Show that you can run the floor, grow your support team, and think a level up, and the path to managing the wider function is direct.
What is next:
We aim to reply to every application within three business days, and our interview process usually takes around three to four weeks. It is a short, practical process: a real conversation, an exercise that looks like the actual job rather than a brain teaser, and time with the people you would work beside, founders included. Tell us if you need more flexibility at any stage.
Our take on who belongs here:
Our team has a vision that spans several nationalities, time zones, and payment traditions, and we think that is exactly why we will make good calls in cross border payments. Whoever you are and wherever you are from, you are welcome to be yourself here.

About UniqPay
UniqPay is a cross-border payments infrastructure company based in Dubai, with teams distributed worldwide. We build the acquiring, payout, and currency-conversion rails that let businesses move money across markets without rebuilding their stack for every corridor.
Marketplaces use us to pay out sellers, platforms to accept payments at scale, and companies to reach vendors in markets most providers do not cover. One integration, every corridor.
Underneath every client the job is the same: move money quickly, keep it stable, and hold both as you scale.
